Global Fund for Women

Global Fund for Women is a grant making foundation supporting women's human rights organizations around the world that works to address critical issues such as gaining economic independence, increasing girls access to education and stopping violence against women.

MercyCorps

One of my favorite global organizations with 92% of donations going to the area of need. They have been around since 1979 doing lots of good work thoughout the world.

Network for Good

Network for Good is the Internet's leading charitable resource, a website where individuals can connect with causes they care about by donating to more than 1 million nonprofit organizations and by choosing from among tens of thousands of volunteer opportunities. Network for Good also works directly with nonprofits to advance the adoption of the Internet as a tool for fundraising, volunteer recruitment and community engagement.

Women for Women International

Women for Women International helps women survivors of war move from crisis and poverty to self sufficiency. In addition to the multiple ways of giving, the website features a Bazaar with items made from the women in their programs.

 

El Jardin de Guadalupe

El Jardin de Guadalupe, or Guadalupe's Garden, is a non-profit foundation dedicated to enriching the lives of low-income Hispanic women and their families.

Their mission is to provide emotional, spiritual and financial support to enhance their personal growth of their clients, through education, counseling and vocational support and family focus.

They provide:

  • Financial support and equipment for educational growth
  • Vocation support with small interest free loans to start small business or to buy supplies for income-producing activities
  • Emotional support through counseling and education to enable improved communization and parenting skills.
